Question:

How long is the hiring process for the FAA?

I am currently a Navy Controlller getting out on my EAOS and have applied to the ASAP system on the FAA.GOV website. 2 of my applications were accepted for further review and I am just wondering if there is anybody who recently went through this process online and if so, how long did it take to actually get hired. Also, when it says you may or may not be contacted for an interview, what exactly is the interview and where was it done and by whom. Thank you.

  1. I went throught the process recently, but I am an off-the-street hire.  It can take usually anywhere from 5-10 months between the close date and actual employment.

The interview:  The FAA will contact you via telephone.  It was around 6-8 weeks after the AT-SAT.  I was contacted by the facility that hired me, but the interview can be from any facility(most likely a center), for any facility to which you applied.
