Question:

How long is the life of battery of IPod?

I have used it for around 3 years, now the battery is not working . At the Apple service centre they say IPod will be replaced from the company. Is it worth buying a new one again. I feel it a sheer wastage of money because they don't change the battery. Anyone having the same experience, pl.share

  1. Yes, but it depends on how you charge it. Never charge when the battery is full.  Only charge it when you need to.

  2. About 2.5-3yrs. Up to that point they will gradually decay, holding their charge for less and less time. Then they are toast.

  3. if its under applecare/warranty they will replace the whole unit with a refurbished one then refurbish yours to pass on to another person.

if you take it a local Apple Dealer rather than Apple Centre then they WILL replace just the battery for a fixed price ranging from £40 to £60 depending on the model. for units out of warranty.

This makes sense as it gets the unit back to you faster than having to wait for the repair queue to get to yours.

  4. 3-5 years depending on how much you use it!  this site offers affordable battery replacement as opposed to apples $50/per battery!

    hope it helped!
