  1. It depends on all sorts of different variables.

    Do you want a newborn?

Are you willing to take a "waiting" child?

Have you completed your home study?

    What agency did you use?

Generally, most adoptions take around a year...unless you are waiting on a newborn, it will probably take longer. I have friends trying to adopt from the USA and they have been waiting for over 12 months. I am looking into International Adoption and the agency says it will probably take 9-12 months to bring my child home.

  2. Frankly, it depends on your financial resources. People who have a lot of money can get a home study and legal resources lined up and have a baby in their home within DAYS.

Those who are not as financially set may wait months or even years.

For those who are not interested in what s*x or race the child may be, placement is faster than those who demand a white male child.

Also, those who are willing to take an older child or one who has handicaps will be given preference over those who only desire an infant.

Generally, expect with average circumstances to wait about a year.

    Good luck.
