  1. A lot of it depends on how you are defining "longest". Potosi - a little town in southwest Wisconsin on the Mississippi River - lays claim to the title of World's Longest Main Street without an adjoining intersection.

  2. I'm heard that Elm Street in Manchester, NH is the longest road with dead ends on both sides.  Don't know if that is true; I've often wondered if it's some sort of local trivia which someone made up.

Edit:  It might be the longest MAIN street in a city with dead ends.  Not sure though...  (Another weird thing about Manchester...  On the other side of the river we have an actual Main Street.  But everyone considers Elm Street the main street because that's where the downtown is.)

  3. wouldn't all roads have to come to an end at some point?  If that's the case then Younge St in Ontario would qualify (as it is the world's longest street).  1,178 miles (1,896 km) in length -- roughly the distance from San Diego, California, to Seattle, Washington.

However, there is also the possibility that you consider dead end streets to be ones with no exits to other streets in that case: I wouldn't know
