Minimizing the time from preparation to consumption is an effective measure for controlling the risk of

infection with E. sakazakii. Prepared feed should be discarded after two hours, unless it has been stored in the

refrigerator since preparation (see Section 3.1.3). Leftover feed should never be saved for later, or added to a

freshly prepared feed, as harmful bacteria may have had the chance to grow during the feeding period.

It is recommended that formula is not held at room temperature for more than two hours, even if water at

no less than 70 °C is used to reconstitute PIF. This is because the feed may have become contaminated during

preparation, or harmful bacteria may have been introduced into the cup or feeding bottle from the infant's

mouth. Also, hot water (70 °C) may have activated bacterial spores of harmful bacteria in the formula. Holding

prepared feeds above refrigeration temperature for extended periods provides the opportunity for such bacteria

    to grow.

  2. They are good for one hour, and after that you have to throw them out.

  3. About an hour but you should NEVER microwave the bottle, put in a cup of HOT water for a few minutes instead.

  4. It should say on the bottle. Most though are only good for 1 hour after the kid takes a drink (because then bacteria has been introduced from their mouth). If they don't drink from it yet, its good for 2 hours. Typically anyway.

I'm surprised it says it is good in the fridge for 72 hours. The longest I've ever seen is 48. I'm only really familiar with Enfamil though.

  5. should be an hour... as far as I know all formula after being warmed is only safe to give to your baby for an hour.

  6. The bottles should be used within 1 hr once they are warmed

  7. an hour and i know it was not a question but you should NOT use the microwave, it is dangerous and can create hot spots, just put in hot water :)

  8. Once formula has been warmed it is good for one hour, though i know many parent will use to for longer than that, one hour is recommended.

  9. After you heat up the bottles, an hour.  You may be able to stretch it a bit longer but defintely an hour once your baby has sucked on the nipple.

  10. out of fridge after heated and fed to baby only an hour, bc once babes lips on it bacteria can grow.... if baby not touch it 2hrs, but you are not suppose to microwave formula ever it kill the nutrients
