How long is too long??

Question

I just finished writing the first draft of my college essay. The only thing is, it's 5 and a half pages! Is that too long? What do you think, any comments are welcome!

Yes, that's too long.

Your paper shouldn't even be longer than 500 words, +/- 50 words.

Cut it down. No college admission's officer is going to read that, and even if they do, you'd make a bad impression of yourself.
