How long is too long to wear contacts each day?

Is 16 or 17 hours too long to wear frequency 55 contacts each day? I have glasses but I don't really like them so I don't ever where them. Is this going to hurt my eyes wearing them this much b/c I don't want to make them worse?

nope its not too long.

sometimes i even leave mine in overnight by accident and their okay in the morning.

depends on the person though.

my friend's contacts start to stick to his eyes if he wears them too long and its hard to get them out.

16 - 17 hours a day , 7 days a week is considered as over wearing.

You really need to give your eyes a break more often with your glasses. Surely using your glasses for an hour or so before going to bed wouldn't be that hard to do.

And on weekends, wait until you have to go out before putting the contacts in, giving your eyes a break in the mornings.

The less you abuse your eyes and overwear the contacts , the better your chances are of being able to wear them problem free for many years.

Those who say it is fine, have no idea what they are talking about , and have no expertise in the field. Some can get away with overwearing for quite awhile...some don't , before problems develop.

Be wise...give your eyes a break .

No, just if they start irritating your eyes, they may dry out, just bring eye drops for contacts (any drug store)

You can leave them in overnight, not recommended but wont hurt your eyes

Yes, u can try to use silicone lenses they r better for long hrs wearing.
