It may take forever to compose and still comes out badly when you do not have any themes/unique memories/inspirations in your mind that will make the melody/lyrics interesting and inspirational/sentimental ( like a good song that will people listen to it repeatedly or cry or other kinds of emotions )

Great songs may be composed in a few minutes with inspiration and can also be composed within a long period ( days, weeks, years, decades ) because of the quality the composer set for himself

As long as you want! Keep trying my friend. Write about your current life and mabye listen to other songs for ideas.

Its not easy but if you realy want it you will work to the best of your ability.

It can take a matter of minutes, or a few days, a week, a month, even years.

It just depends on how your ideas come to you, your creative process and how much time you devote to the idea.

There is no 'correct formula' to composing a piece of music. It, like many things in life, is one of life's great wonders.

Here is an example for you though. I compose Breakbeat and Trip-Hop music using a variety of electronic equipment.

A typical track may take me a couple of days to come up with the idea, lay down the bare bones then spice it up with effects and exciting production techniques. However, I may start a track have some good ideas, then leave it for a while and come back to it one day months later.
