How long it takes to get I130 approved?

Hi everyone,

Can someone tell me how long it usually takes in month to get I130 Approved? I filed I130 in March 2008 and still waiting for approval... I red on some website that it takes two to three months to get it approved from.

  1. It takes somewhere between 6 months and 7 years to process an I-130, depending on who is being petitioned for.

    Go to: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Process...

    and look for the I-130 that you are interested in.


  2. It took my wife about 6 months.  We sent in the paperwork in the middle of July.  We were notified around the end of November to come in the following January for our interview.  She was approved at the end of that interview.

    RESPONSE - My wife is from Venezuela and already in the US.  I was born here.  We applied in July of 2004 and she received her green card in January, 2005.  One thing I learned when dealing with immigration is you need a lot of patience.  You can track the status of your case in the USCIS.gov web site.  Good luck!

  3. it depends on the Service Center. the CSC usually approves the I129F and the I130 within 2 to 3 months whereas VSC as of August 2008 is still working on January. So if your application is with VSC, stock up a lot of patience and wait for 5 to 7 months. Good Luck!
