Hello,

Several days ago, my green card was approved. It is on its way, thank the Lord. I have been waiting for so long.

My question is, how long do I have to remain employed with my sponsoring employer? I heard somewhere there is a six month law and I haven't been able to find it on USCIS.gov. Anyway, if anyone knows, I would be grateful. Also, does it make a difference what form you filled out? Mine was an I-360 (religious) and the adjustment of status (I-485). Thank you and God bless you.

  1. The contract you signed will govern your status.

  2. Minimum of 6 months to 1 year is recommended by many of immigration lawyers. Congratulations!
