My passport expires in December and I'm am going to the US in a week for a week. My mom mentioned something about it having to be valid for 3 months after the trip (which mine will be). So I went looking trying to find out if this really is the case, but I couldn't find anything. It just says a valid passport is needed. Is mine ok?

  1. It only needs to be valid for the duration of your stay. You can verify this with the site below.  Just enter your nationality and destination and click for the info.  The window that pops up will  tell you that you can stay in the U.S.until the date your passport expires(of course, your visit cannot be more than 6 months.)

  2. Usually its between 3-6 months after your stay. Google the Canadian consulate/embassy and look for it there.

  3. I think it just needs to be valid for the duration of your stay.  You should have no problem.
