  1. I think that 3 hours isn't possible, at least it takes 4 hours also because in Bologna there's always much traffic (Bologna is an important city/point where many autoroutes get connected)

    Be careful

    =)

  2. It's nearly 300 km, but you have to travel on very busy highway, passing through the city of Bologna, so you can spend more than 3 hours. Calculating everything, you should estimate a time between 3h 30m and 4 hours, depending ot the time of the day.

By the way, you can't drive in Venice, as there aren't normal roads... you have to park somewhere before entering Venice, better if in another town, as it will be less expensive.

My advice is to go by train... from Florence it's easier and faster: 2h 30m only

  3. about 4 hrs, depends on traffic, but you get on the autostrada and you should be there in 4 hrs, also nice stops for cappuccino and coffee on the way

  4. 277 km about 3 hours 11 minutes

  5. It will take you as long as it will take you.

This depends on which route you take, the speed that you travel, and at what time you travel.

There are speed limits on the autostrada varying from 110 to 150 kmph, but many Italians do not observe these limits.

If you set off at 06:00 travel via the A routes A11,A1,A14,A13,A4 it is possible to do it 2 hours 30 minutes ( 251 km ).

You do not have to drive through Bologna.

The A4 will take you to Mestre, you will then drive down the S11, a long causeway which will take you into Venezia. At the end of the road is bus station, with a number of car parks. These will be full. You will drive back along the S11 to Mestre, park for free near to the bus station, and catch the bus to Venezia cost 1 euro.

You can not travel by car beyond the Venezia bus station.

  6. A man was walking along a country road in New Zealand when he came upon an old Maori sitting on the banks of a river. “How far is it to the next village?”  he asked. “Try singing on the way” the old man answered. It’s not important how far you go, but how you enjoy the journey.

I travel from Rome to Venice and beyond about 3 or 4 times a year and always enjoy myself. Sometimes I travel on the Autostrada (Toll Motorway), other times I take the Toll free Highway through Umbria, The stretch between Florence and Bologna (A1 Toll Motorway) is very panoramic, takes you through the Appenines and lasts about 1 and a half hours due to all the curves and heavy traffic. The Bologna ring road (part of the Toll Motorway) is usually quite busy and takes a half hour at the most, then you are on the Bologna Padova stretch, another hour, but if I were you I’d stop over in Ferrara.  A real mediaeval jewel (branch of my family comes from there), well worth seeing, maybe for lunch, with Cappellacci alla Zucca (pumpkin filled pasta). The last stretch from Padova to Venice is quite short, about twenty minutes, then you leave the Toll Motorway and you need another half hour to get to Piazzale Roma , where you can park your car and take the ferry boat. All in all just over 3 - 4 hours for just under 300 kms. Very pleasant. A valid alternative is the train. On the way back you can choose between Padova (a dry land  Venice) or Bologna (an old University and market town), both very cultured and full of excellent eating places.

Have a nice trip and don’t forget to sing.

  7. 277 km – about 3 hours 11 mins

  8. I drove from Milan to Venice on the Autostrada and I think it took two - three hours. It can vary depending on traffic and on how fast you are willing to drive. There is no speed limit (like the Autobahn in Germany). Drivng from florence would probably take another 45 - 60 minutes.

Google says it is 277 kilometers and will take just over 3 hours via A1 and A13.
