How long should I prepare for the GRE exam, if i just finished college at Irvine. I have taken calculus before

but kind of rusty in my math...for the english part, I am pretty much horrible with vocabulary? any suggestions on how to study and get a good score? Thanks

  1. ick. the GRE is nerve wracking. the more you study and take practice tests, the better off you'll be. start NOW.

    the math on the GRE is not difficult - you only have a minute or so for each question, so you don't need to know a lot of crazy math, just be able to do basic math, algebra, geometry etc.. quickly.

    Vocab. okay, again, take practice exams to see what you'll have to do. but there are books filled with vocab from past GRE's. Get one of them. make flash cards and study every day. Study while the water is boiling on the stove for dinner, study the vocab while you're watching tv, waiting for the bus, etc...

    Make sentences with the vocab to help you remember the meanings of the words.

    you could also take a GRE prep course for a month, week, or weekend.

    If you have people you can study with this is even better!

    Spend some money on a couple of good prep books (Kaplan, Princeton etc..) remember, this test is critical to your acceptance to a good grad school, so don't mess around with it!!
