How many hours a day should I swim for six weeks to get the best results??

  1. It depends of what your goal is and what 'best results' means for you.

    The results depend on whether you are doing other sports, on your weight, on how much/what you are eating, on whether you were swimming in the past etc.


  2. Depencing on how fast you swim i guess. BUt....probally an hour or so if your not used to it. Increase you time as you grow stronger..

  5. only around one or two.hours because swimming is a sport which involves all the muscles in your body. If you continue more than necessary, you'll end up straining or damaging your muscles

  6. I would swim for two hours to two and a half. It is really hard to injure yourself if you stretch for fifteen minutes prior to swimming. Also have a water bottle with you. Do not just limit yourelf to swimming. Running in the morning helps. If you do not like running try to do at least fifteen minutes of abwork a night as well as thrity minutes of weight lifting every other night. I am a swimmer and this is what I do:)

    but assuming u have a pool or w/e handy

    generally do hour sessions with hour breaks until u feel too tired to keep up ur metabolism and burn fat to reveal ur 6 pack or w/e.

    make sure its not for more thn 6 hours and take at least one whle day off for your muscles to recover

    As u it gets esier increase the intensity of the stroke but dont do it longer or ull become a bit delirious after non stop swimming

    If u r trying to increase bulk dnt be stupid with shakes and tablets theyre a waste of time. Just replace white carbs such as white bread and crisps and all tht unk with some meat and vegtables. If uve seen apocalypto and their bodies that is the diet they were on. The protein shoudl help with the groeth and repair of ur body so take it easy at first and build slowly to get the best loking boday:D

  10. i go swimming 1 or twice a week but i just do it for fun i normally do just 20 lenths

  11. Yeah i would say about 2 ish, afterwards go and have a sit in the jacuzzi if your gym or wherever you are going has one, that way it will help to relax and untense your muscles!

    Remember to always stretch before you swim!

  12. It's not about how long, but how much you get done.

    i.e. you get about the same exercise sprinting a mile as you do going slow. I would say to set your pace to be about 3 - 6 miles a day.

  13. Hi there.

    the key is to get in the habit and keep going, so seting times is not the right way. For the first week, set a number of lengths - if you are newish to swimming, don't do over 16.

    Week 2, if you are not suffering, extend it out by two repetitions of another 8 to make 32 - as long as that doesn't injure!

    Week 3, add another rep of 8 to make 40.

    Depending how you feel, you van maintain this for the next few weeks or add more reps in batches of 8 as the mood takes you. I wouldn't recommend exceeding 64 unless you find it all very easy, 64 is a good number to maintain.

    At the end of 6 weeks you should see definite improvement in physique, muscletone and skin, but your weight should only be a few pounds lower (more if you are fat now).

  14. it's a very individual thing and would really depend on how long it takes for your fingers and toes to become prune-like. although a couple of hours a day wouldn't be out of the question for best results. that would ensure that you will not gain any weight when you stuff your face through the day and would also give you dried-fruit-like fingerprints.
