How long should I swim to get a good workout?

Can i just sort of play around and swim and get a good work out? How many laps a day could i see results in?

  1. If you do about 20 laps once a day every day that should work well. Just swimming around won't help you much though. You can do your laps and then play and get a better work out than either one by itself.

  3. Enough sprints to make you pant during your breaks. Thats really the honest answer. But dont push yourself beyond your limits.

  4. 1hour and 30mins to 2hours depending on what pace you swim at
