I use a towel for 2 weeks before washing. My frIend thinks it's disgusting, she gets a clean one every day. I say I am clean when I exit the shower and so is the towel. Please help and chime in with what you think is proper.

  1. I agree with your friend. That is disgusting.  Honey let's think about it for a minute. Let's talk about what gets on a bath towel:

    Sebum

    Dead skin flakes

    Blood from zits

    Dandruff

    Fecal Matter

    Menstrual blood residue

    Mucous

    Saliva

    Eye mucous

    Toe jam

    Nail funk

    Puss from zits

    Hair

    Lotions

    Conditioners

    Soap Residue

    s***n

Towels should be changed after at least one week. I change my towel at least every three days.

  2. There is a happy and healthy hygienic medium between daily towel changes and your two weeks. I don't think you can get any diseases from using the same towel for two weeks, however, two weeks is way too long. Yes, you are clean when you come out of the shower but you also scruff off a lot of dead skin that didn't come off in the shower which would probably come off into your towel. All those little skin cells deteriorate and technically your towel is not clean anymore.  Daily fresh towels seem like a bit much, but I'd make sure to wash a towel at least once a week!!!.

  3. I think putting out a new towel every two-and-a-half to three-and-a-half days is about right.

  4. I don't use any towel for more than 1 week.  Same thing with sheets, no more than 1 week.

  5. yes,change ur towel daily.

  6. I, too, like to re-use my towel for up to 3 days.  Then, I use it to wipe down the tub, let it dry, and then throw it in the wash.
