How long should I wait after using Visine before I can put my contacts back in?

I've heard that you shouldn't use Visine with contacts, but is it ok as long as you wait a while to put them back in?

I would recommend getting an artificial tear that goes with contact lenses, there is a brand called "blink" that we often recommend to contact lens wearers. There are certain different variations of visine that can cause more damage than good. When using artificial tears you should wait about 5-10 mins between putting in your lenses.

my eye doc told me that visine is not good for your eyes.  you should use artificial  tears, it's a lot more gentle, and ok to use if  you wear contacts.  i would wait at least 10 minutes thou, since you used visine.
