Question:

How long should I wait before retaking the Spanish SAT II?

I just took the SAT Subject Tests for the first time in June. I didn't do nearly as well as I'd hoped. I took the US History test after taking the AP exam and scored a 650. I took the Spanish test without taking the AP, simply a "college credit course" and scored a 580. I absolutely plan on retaking Spanish because I plan on majoring in Spanish Education. So please don't tell me how my scores aren't that well because I know they're not, which is why I'm here. I'm taking AP Spanish Language this coming year, but I don't know how far into the year I should let myself prepare for it before I retake it. I want colleges to see the higher score, but I don't know how much AP preparation I should have before going in to do it again. Any suggestions?

  1. There's no minimum or maximum amount of time. It is whenever you feel that you're ready. However long it takes for you to absorb the information that you need. The good thing is that now you know what is expected.
