My snake is shedding for the second time now and I've read many times as I learned to care for it that you don't feed a snake while it is shedding. Great!! I learned that much, but I never was able to find out how long I should really wait to make sure I'm keeping my snake comfortable. Please let me know, thanks

  1. i have 2 ball ball pyhtons and a crt boa and they wont eat when there shedding and probably not for another 2 or 3 days after it sheds becuase you cant risk it throwing it up or it wasting the food if you really know you snake well enough though you can tell if its hungry. you already know that you dont feed it when its shedding so good luck

  2. as soon as its done sheding i feed mine and its never hurt them at all. i dont know if you kill your mouse first (you should) but if you do, but before you kill the mouse try and get the snake to smell it, without holding it close enough to get bit. and if he starts moving his head around and smelling or moving toward you, you should be able to feed your snake at this time.

p.s. if you dont kill the mice before you feed them to you snake you really should, mice can bite and cause a fatel infection, even with treatment. i just hold them by the tail and flick them in the back of the head at the top of the neck.

  3. i feed mine the day that they shed or the day after they shed.

  4. day after the shed

  5. I usually wait until about two days after the shedding cycle  you can also feed your ball python up to two or sometimes three fuzzies in one feeding. www.ball-pythons .net has excellent caresheets on their site written by the worlds top breeders of ball pythons.
