How long should I wait to place the baby guppies in the main tank?

I never remove them.  Make sure you tank is well planted and just leave them there.  Almost as many survive as they do when you remove them and it's a heck of a lot less work.

Just wait until they're big enough that they wont get eaten.

I'd wait two or three months.

Just a few weeks.  Wait until they about double in size or until you think they are big enough not to get eaten.
