I am moving to Chicago in a month and the vet told me to do a test trial with the sedated pill to see how she reacts to it and if I have any problems with the pill to bring her in. I plan on doing this tomorrow and I feel so bad doing it but she is not the best cat to spend 8 hours in a car with..... so my question is how long do I wait to stop feeding her. Once the trip arrives we plan on moving my stuff the morning of Sept 20. Thanks for anyone who can help.

  1. normaly if they are going to be sedated by the vet its nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before, and that is b/c when they are waking up from being under they have a hard time controling there bodily functions!

  2. Usually 8-12 hours for an average cat, but this should be a question for your vet's office.  It depends on the breed, weight, age....

You don't have to talk to the vet, the assistant should be able to answer this question.  Please call their office, and let them tell you the safest, healthiest answer.
