How long should I wait to wash my dyed hair?

I just dyed my hair a bright, unnatural red color and was wondering how long I should wait to wash it. I've seen other people on here ask but it always seems to be a more natural color.

When it comes to red hair it doesn't matter if you wash it once a week... It's still going to fade very fast!! Red is the smallest color molecule when it comes to hair color. Your best bet is to wait 24 hours before you wash it. Make sure that you use a Color Protecting shampoo and conditioner!! I would recommend going to an Ulta if you have one in your area and picking up a color depositing shampoo which is made by Artec they come in many different shades and slowly after a few wash you will notice that your red is a richer more vibrant color!!

Well, it depends, if it is a really extreme color, wait like 48 hours, f it was just some highlites, or not really chemically damaged, wait at least 1 day. but try not to over wash it in the future.

Read the package directions. I use Natural Instincts, and it says to just wait 24 hours, but every dye is a little different.

BTW, it's okay to rinse it so you can style it...just don't use shampoo to wash it.
