How long should I wait until smoking after wisdom teeth extraction?

I just got them out today,and while I plan on following the rules and not smoking...I'd really like to know when I can have a cig.

i smoked a couple hours later...when i did smoke..that was many years ago..

Not for at least 3-5 days, the sucking action can dislodge the clot, and leave the area susceptible to dry socket

Use a patch!

My dentist told me 48 hours. I didn't quite make it that far, but I was still ok.
