I heard from my friend in UK that in UK, I can work for anytime less than 2 years and I can get back all income tax paid to UK's Inland Revenue when I leave UK.

Anyone knows about Ireland? Is it also within 2 years?

Or, anyone knows if it is true for UK tax refund?

What is the tax refund called? I tried searching at their websites but still cannot find this info yet.

  1. Not true you are responsible to pay your US income tax in Ireland or UK.  Go to US Embassy in Dublin Ireland or London England you can get all the infor on work and taxes also you cannot just go to Ireland and get a job.  You have to be hired while here in the US and the job in Ireland applies for you work permit to work in Ireland.

  2. I'm Irish.I moved from Ireland to the Uk and I applied for taxback. Even though I had worked in Ireland for 6 years I only received taxback for the last year of work. This is always the case in Ireland. You get taxback only for the last year of work. Go to www.taxback.com It is a worldwide website and just enter the country in which you are claiming tax back from. I am almost certain that it is the same in the Uk but not entirely. Ireland definitley, tax back on last year of work only. Good luck!
