  1. As long as they want to, normally a newborn will sleep from 14-20 hours a day.  It really depends on the baby, and at night, they could sleep more if their schedule is right. Mine will sleep at night sometimes 5 hours at a time.

  2. My daughter was bottle fed, and was sleeping 5 or 6 hours when I went back to work at 6 weeks.  If you're nursing, then expect alot less.

The key to getting a good chunk of sleep is to try and keep that last bottle until you are just about ready to go to sleep yourself!!  That way if the baby is going to sleep for 4 to 6 hours, so will you.

  3. It really depends.  The fact that he is sleeping solidly through the night for 7-8 hours is great! Many 2 month olds still wake up frequently and that is just about the age where they start to learn to sleep through the night.

  4. Let them sleep as long as they don't sleep more that five hours without feeding.  That may be a sign that they are sick.  Wake them and check for illness.

  5. 2-3 hours but most often they just wake up to eat, and go straight back to sleep for another 2-3 hours.

  6. my 2 month old go to sleep at 630 and wakes up at 10 to eat then goes back to sleep and wakes p at 1 then 5 to eat and sleeps till 950!!! but all babies are different

  7. As long as he or she can.  My boy slept 4 hours last night, a personal best.  He will be two months tomorrow.

  8. As long as baby wishes to.  By this  point there is usually no need to wake baby for feedings (if baby is gaining well and wetting plenty of dipes), so trust baby to know what he needs.  A few babies are sleeping the night by now.  A few are still eating every 2-3 hours.  Most are going at least one longish stretch (3-5 hours) but still needing those 1-2 night feeds.

  9. My daughter slept only 2 hours at a time when she was that age.  She would routinely wake up every 2 hours to feed.  It all depends on the baby, so let them sleep because they need it.
