How long should a 2 year old birthday party last?

Daughters birthday party is in September,she'll be 2. I am just trying to get ahead of everything before school starts up for me. I was wondering how long the party should last?

well if its with a bunch of kids maybe about 2 hours. so they can all have time to play along with eating cake and opening presents.

but if its just gunna mainly be adults then maybe like an hour to an hour and half.

1 1/2 hours because preschoolers and young children don't have a long attention span.

I would not let it go more than two hours tops, its hard for them to handle any more than that, I just had one in July 11th, they where all cranky by that two hour mark, good luck!!

I always schedule my parties to last 2 hours. I hour for play and the other for cake and presents.

It depends whether its mainly kids, or whether it will be family and friends. If its all your daughters little 2 year old friends, then one and a half hours to 2 hours will be ok. When its family and friends, people usually just leave when they want. How it works for my parties anyway :)

Two hours is probably sufficient.. but it also depends what time of day the party is and the ages of the people attending. Three hours tops if you're doing free play time within the party.

If its a kid's party, then 2 hours.  If it's a family party, then unlimited.

depends on the age of the kids and the purpose of the function. if there will be lots of other two year olds i would suggest about 2-3 hours is long enough. try to keep it mid day,  say....10am-1pm because lots of children this age will still need to go home to have an afternoon nap.

if it's more of a family and friends type gathering with varied ages of children than anything goes. people will come and go based on the needs of their families.
