How long should a heat lamp be left on for a yellow bellied slider turte?

i have done a lot of research (weeks worth of research) to find this out but i cannot find anything... thanks

You should be heating the water with a separate heater: habitat set up

78F-80F for hatchlings, and 75F-78F for adults and 10 degrees more for the basking area.

Turtles are semi-aquatic and need UVB light.  They should be provided with basking and UVB lights 10-12 hr. a day.

His basking lamp 8 to 10 hrs plus a day  for the vitamin D that  they need to grow.

Leave the heater on 75 to 78 degrees always.

Their water needs to be clean otherwise they get sick easily from dirty water cause they p**p allot.

You need a good filter system !!

You need to feed them feeder guppies, goldfish or minnows for protein and calcium daily.

They need leafy greens for vitamins at least 3 to 4 times a week.

And a big tank 55 gallons or more..

i have a red-earred slider, and on the bottom of the turtle is yellow, does your turtle have red by the ears? i leave my heat-lamp on 24-7. i turn it off sometimes, to cool it. and so the electric bill is not high, they will go on the basking area and bask in the light when they want. ive read alot online also and your right about not being able to find anything about the light. but i asked at the pet store. hope that helps.
