How long should a package take to arrive, from Detroit, MI, to Las Vegas, NV?

Question

On Dec 14, I'm mailing out a package (standard shipping) from Detroit, MI, to Las Vegas, NV, for Christmas. Will it arrive on time, or should I go ahead and pay for priority mail?

I know that from here to south-central Colorado, in the boonies, it takes 5 days for mail, but I've never mailed as far as Vegas before.

I'd say 3-5 days. Even though going technically farther, Las Vegas is a major city which should be faster delivery.  The Colorado boonies should actually take longer then Vegas.  If priority is only like a couple bucks extra go ahead and do that.
