How long should a scar heal before getting ink over it?

Question

I had a motorbike skid a month back and will have some pretty nasty scars on my forearms so I'll probably get something over them, how long do I have to wait, still pink now, so it's probably still too soon, but don't know if it's like a 3 months thing, a year thing, or what.

wait til it totally clears get vitamin E and aloe and rub it on the scars ~ and write Death To SQUIDS ! on your forearms

I think it would depend on how deep the scar is. Why dont you just ask the tattoo artist? Some of the scars i have i would never have a tattoo on, pretty deep and big.

wait awhile,,,the scar is thickening little by little,,,wont take the ink too well.

Wait till it is completely healed.  A month should be alright but might want to wait till the scars start to fade a little.
