My mother in law passed away about 2 months ago. Well she passed from cancer and it was a very long and hard time for the family, very hard. Now my father in law is wanting to date a lady from our church, well if you would call it a date,go to the fair. People seem to think this is wrong. My mother in law told me herself that she did not want him to just give up because they are both fairly young. My father in law is very wealthy and thats the only thing that concerns me, because the lady is 29 years old.. Im only 27. I dont have a problem with the age at all, I just want to see him happy again, he has been sad for well over a year now. So people let me know what you think and please be kind because my father in law is such a great person. I just dont want some lady coming along and taking him for all hes worth, come on he hasn't dated in over 30 years lol.

  1. Without personally knowing all the people involved, it's very difficult to give advice on an issue like this. This is a very very serious issue. Hmmm, lady at church, age 29. Now, I don't like that at all on the surface. Lots of young gold diggers hang out where older people are and strike up relationships. Why don't you get him to bring her over and YOU have a chat with her. It would be better for you to at least join in on this and see what she's up to. OK? You said you love your father-in-law and I think this would work. It's what I would do. Guys can be taken in easier than women. I know, I'm a guy.lol...Good luck. Time wise, who cares? It's whenever you're ready. You said his wife was sick with cancer a long time and that wears on you in a bad way.

  2. ITS DIFFERENT FOR DIFFERENT PPL REALLY ITS WHEN EVER THAT PERSON FEELS THAT THEY NEED TO FIND ANOTHER LOVE AND NO IT WONT REPLACE THE OTHER WIFE THAT PASSED SO WHEN EVER THAT PERSON GETS COMFTERBAL WITH THE WHOLE SITUATION.

  3. No set rule but I would think even 6 months is long enough. We all need a good partner regardless of our circumstances in life.

  4. depend on how much you loved the person that passed away.... some don't date for respect to them or because of how much they love them. Or some people could wait couple of years to start a new life and not be lonely...

  5. Taking someone to the fair seems very safe. I'd be concerned if he was taking her on a cruise. I'm sure he wants to move on and feels like he's mourned enough. He'll always love his ex wife, but I'm sure battling cancer along side her took a toll on him as well, he's due for some fun.  I'm a bit concerned with the age difference. I know it's just the fair, but make sure that you keep an eye out for anything that seems shady. Like him buying her expensive gifts when things are still so new.  Hopefully, this will just kick start him to do some dating, because that's what he needs, just to date, not another serious relationship. Let him have his fun, but just keep an eye out for gold diggers..

    : )

  6. The requirements and the opinions of other people are taken with a grain of salt. Your father in law has made peace with his grief and loss, now that he's interested with dating. Allow him the pleasure and the excitement of the single life. Interfere only by questioning him of your suspicions of his dates in communications as one adult to another, not as a snooping potential heir of his fortune.

  7. I think he is old enough to know if someone is trying to take him for a ride. It sounds like you and he have a good relationship, so ask him how his date was. I'm sure he would love to tell you how he feels. Its all new to him, so give him some help if he needs it.

  8. She only passed away 2 months

ago, people usually wait if not a year,

longer. I'm not saying that he should wait a year

but I mean come on 2 months, boyfriends and girlfriends who

have broken up wait at leastt like 6 months. But he can do whatever

he wants and nobody should judge him for that.

    :)
