How long should an application for an ISA take?

I completed the form over the internet around 2-3 weeks ago and recieved confirmation back that the application was being processed. The bank requested a copy of my driving licence which I sent off 2 weeks ago. How long should it take before the account is up and running?

  1. Very strange it's normally done immediately without any reason to see your driving licence. You don't even need to have a driving licence for that matter. Very odd.

  2. Odd. I went into my Bank and they did mine there and then, done in half an hour!

  3. Like Jo   mine was up and running within 30mins.... whats the holdup ?

  4. I know a number of organisations had a very busy ISA period, so you could expect it to take up to 30 days for your ISA account to be opened.

They will have asked you for your drivers licence as proof of ID if you're a new customer to them, but you should have got this back pretty quickly.

I'd chase them in another week.
