That guns battery should only require about 2.5 hours with a completely dead battery.

Take the number on the battery and divide it by the number on the charger.  1200 Mah battery / 300 Mah charger = 4 hours.  You might want to go 5 the first time, but no more.  If you charge a NiCd too long you will fry it.
