Question:

How long should i expect to be at the Orthodontist for?

Friday i have an appointment at 8:30 am *The last week day of summer vacation and i have to get up early lol* I am having the Molding done of my teeth, they will be taking X-Rays and they will also be putting my spacers in. How long do you think i will be their for? And also...Do spacers hurt when they are putting them in?

  2. getting the spacers put in did not hurt but after it hurt badly. probably between an hour and an hour in a half.

  3. the molding (inperssions) take only a few minutes. As far as spacers, I would think maybe another couple minutes, I never had to get spacers so I really dont know.

    If I had to guess, maybe 30-45 minutes, depends on ortho.

  4. I'd say 30-40 minutes. They have to let the molding set, but that's less than 5 minutes per mold. The spacers don't hurt much, but sometimes they can snap when they put them in, and they can slip and push them against your gumline between teeth. But it doesn't hurt much at all. The spacers might make your mouth a little sore, and you might be a little afraid to brush over them (they can come out, but not usually). Just brush normally, and count them everyday to make sure none fell out. Good luck!

    Oh, and the spacers are going to feel strange, but don't worry, you'll get used to it.
