  1. Like David says, once you have worn out every last little inch off the tyre walls, once you have ground out the foot pegs and once you have ground out a new pair of knee sliders in one day. then you are ready for a bigger bike.

  2. Take the Superbike classes first if you are in california or something similar where you live.  If its only been three weeks you haven't had nearly enough experience to handle a heavier more powerfull bike. It will take at least a year of riding daily to learn how to handle your 600 properly. Once you have added 18k miles on your 600 you will be ready for the 1000.  Buy a book called proficient motorcycling, it will teach you everything you need to know about riding.  Wear your leathers.

  3. if you're riding it comfortably on the roads then upgrade. you'll never out grow a 1000cc.

  4. You can get Repsol replica fairings for your 600 on ebay cheaper than a new bike and you get the look you want.

  5. I doubt you can get the replica fairings for the gixxer you have in your picture.

and, as for upgrading three weeks into a  new bike ummmmmm, don't get greedy wait atleast a year, and in the mean time buy a really nice poster of a repsol to remind you of whatyou don't need.

  6. Wiggy nailed it

    Wow! A 600 will out accelerate a 1000. WTF?

  7. That repsol is a very nice bike, but consider this.  A 1000cc streetbike is inherently more cumbersome, and though it may have a higher top speed, its off the line and reaction times are slower due to the power curve.  A 600cc is more agile, and quicker to accelerate from a dead stop or slow crawl, plus they tend to be able to withstand a higher RPM range.  People tend to think that 1000cc's means "faster."  But their not faster, their just differant.  You can handle a 1000cc just as easy as you can handle a 600cc, and thats because basic motorcycle physics apply to all two-wheeled vehicles.  Cruiser, chopper, street, dirt...its all the same principals and concept, just to differant extremes.  For example, a chopper will not turn as easy or quickly as a streetbike, but the WAY you turn a chopper is done exactly the same as you would a streetbike.  That repsol may top out at 185-190 (i dont know its specs,) but ask yourself, how often do you EVER get the open smooth road, time, and urge to do that?  Its just personal preferance.  I prefer my Ninja 636 for its agility and quick throttle response.  You can handle any bike you want, no matter what these other clowns tell you.  Just remember, if you fear the bike your on, it WILL buck you off, regardless of its size.

  8. 3 weeks? Jeez, you haven't even scrubbed off the tires yet!

Why not get yr bike painted in Repsol replica finish? A lot cheaper than some race rep that will really bite with insurance, a modern 600 is lighter and nimbler and a lot more day to day fun.

Bikes are for riding, not posing.

  9. I always been told never drive or ride faster than your angel can fly. My angel is old, fat and slow.
