  1. Personally, I rarely use one but if you do remember these tips;

    Get the longest, largest diameter and finest mesh net you can.

    Make sure that it is staked out correctly and doesn't collapse under water.

    Don't overfill it.

    Dont' put large specimens in it. If the fish is so big that it can't turn around in the net, put it back.

    Check it every couple of hours to ensure the wellbeing of the fish.

    When you empty it, lower it into the water, take up all the sections in one hand leaving the lower section and let the fish swim out.

    Tight lines!

  2. depends on several things firstly being.....is there anyneed for you to use a keepnet to start with?

    2) weather conditions...dont keep fish longer than needed in warm weather as could suffer from stress and starved of oxygen as water holds less oxygen as it gets warmer.

    3)the amount of fish in net and the size.of fish.

    unless a match angler try and use them as little as possible i know people like a trophy pic of catch but if that you

    why not try having ago for larger specimins and take pics as you catch that way you can return them straight away.

    hope this helps a little....tight lines

  3. If you have to use one ,remember to peg it out ( to stop it collapsing ) preferably in the shade,and if fishing in running water peg the bottom up stream (this stops fish getting pinned to the bottom of the net by the current )

  4. Don't keep them in there too long, i never use them but would say about 2 hours depending on the size of the fish and the net they are being kept in, also if the water contains pike you have the risk of them actually eating into the net to get the contents, Ive seen it happen.
