Question:

How long should i wait after ectopic pregnancy.To try to conceive?

I been tryn to conceive for almost 5 months now.i lost my baby in march of this year.how much longer should i wait.because i asked my doctor if i could try already and he said i was set to go.but i haven't got pregnant yet.what could be the problem be or do i still have to give my body heal a little more or what.what can i do.because i was 7 weeks pregnant when i lost my baby.

  1. I had to take methotrexate to stop the development of the baby in my tube.  Then I had to wait 3 months for the methotrexate to get out of my system before I could begin TTC again, since the drug could have caused horrible birth defects.

    So.....did you take methotrexate, or did you have a procedure?  I would think you'd be able to start trying again.  It's going to take awhile again---not because of the ectopic, but just because TTC sometimes takes a while.

  2. I had ectopic pregnancy too.Mine was last August I was 5 weeks pregnant. I was told by my dr that we had to wait at least 3 months before trying again otherwise there can be a possibility of fetal abnormalites.Sorry to hear of your loss. Best of Luck.
