my period is 13 days late, ive always been regular (28 days) apart from april- june were i was getting them every three weeks, but then went back to 28ish days again, the reason i think this might have happened was when i went from doing hardly no exercise to going to the gym 3 times a week and therefore lost some weight. I am still doing this exercise and eating a healthy diet, i am no longer loosing weight as i reached my goal. I am just wondering could the exercise still be the cause of throwing my cycle of track ( although it came back to normal) or could it be something else and i am not pregnant. i am SO confused and want to know how long i should wait to see if it comes before going to the doctors.

I'm 19 and been having my period since i was 11 and always been regular.

thanks

  1. i wouldn't worry about it. i think your body is just getting used to the goal you now have.

    congrats btw :]

  2. I once was like you, my periods were right on track and could be counted on to the tee. Stress, hormones, sleep schedule out-of-whack, exercise, and many other things can throw your period off balance. 13 days isn't that big of a deal really. l have actually gone almost 2 months without a period and was not pregnant. Many of my friends have experienced similar things and weren't pregnant. Just don't stress out about it and it will come when it is ready.

But in case you didn't know, your body will gain about 3-5 extra pounds just before your period does show up.

  3. I would see my doctor, there are just so many things that could be going on...  It takes a good bit of exercising/dieting and weight loss to cause your cycle to stop.  Of course, not being able to see you and therefore assess your weight/gym routine, it is really difficult to say.
