How long should i wait between hair dyes?

I just dyed my hair with Loreal Preference out of the box, and it turned out all gross and uneven. I bought a new box, and its a fairly dark brown just to get rid of it all, but I just want to make sure no damage will be done to my hair from dying it so frequently. Any other tips?

  1. You're supposed to wait at least two weeks and until then, I highly recommend deep conditioning your hair to keep it healthy so it can withstand they dying treatment.  I had some bad highlights in my hair a few weeks ago (turned all brassy) and I waited about 3 weeks to dye it again and get them out.

  2. as long as your not bleaching your good to go.

  3. Get a semi-permanent to cover up, or go to a, and I emphasize, TRAINED colorist who knows how to correct by dye-jobs.  Assuming you are white, re-dying it will absolutely strip your hair and make it hard to style.

  4. wait no less than 3 days. but usually wait about month to re-dye your hair.

  5. NEVER use Garnier Nutrisse dyes, is another tip I can give.

Personally, I'd say it depended on whether the Preference was permanent or not and what brand and length the colour you're putting on your hair is.

I recommend Nice n Easy non-permanent (8 or 24 wash) in 82 - Dark Warm Brown.... but if you leave it on for 45 mins it goes almost black (However, it does have some nice reddish tints to it).

Put your hair in a hair mask 1-3 times a week if damaged, or more if it's REALLY bad.

I'd also recommend waiting at least 8 weeks - 6 absolute minimum - before re-dying.

  6. it will be ok. i died my hair blonde a year ago and i missed spots so i redid it and no damage was done

  7. never dye ur hair wit that box!!!! it damages a c**p load!! just go to a salon (a good one) and tell yhem to fix it

  8. just re-dye it

    it will be fine

unless your hair is completely brittle to begin with

    it'll be fine

if it does get damaged from the dye

just deep condition it a couple times a week

    or

    try a hot oil treatment

    dont worry about it

  9. well i thnk tht u should go 2 d salon they r pros soo ur hair wont die as quickly and if u want 2 do it by urself then u should wa8 a couple weeks thn do it again.

  10. I called one of the hair dye companies once because the color I bought and put on wasn't dark enough. They said don't make it a habit but sometimes it's ok to re-color really soon afterwards to fix a color you don't like.

  11. I've redyed my hair 3 times in a week before. It's not recommended, but it won't make your hair fall out or anything. You have to make sure you just go easy on your roots. I actually apply it to my roots last because those dye a lot faster than the other stuff I've already dyed (I don't do touch ups I was doing different colors every time). If you really want to dye it again soon, deep condition it REALLY well at least once or twice before you do it again. Everyone is flipping out saying go to a salon and whatever but the only time a hair stylist has said anything about my hair is this past time where I've dyed it literally at least 10 times with a full application not touch ups plus put highlights in it. So my hair is dry but it still looks good it's not frizzy or anything.  I would recommend L'Oreal Feria or Garnier Nutrisse for good dark hair dyes. I've tried probably 20 color/brand combinations and now those are probably the only ones I'll use.

  12. be sure to use salon quality hair treatment so your hair doesnt die.

  13. i heard that every 15 days is enough to dye ur hair.........but u should always important to use conditioning treatments...hope i helped

  14. if you die your hair often, you should prolly wait 1-2 months between every hair dye

  15. I would go to a salon and just have them give you a color rinse to cover the color you died it.

  16. Any time you dye your hair it causes damage...Use a deep conditioning mask that will help fix any damages that has been done to your hair

I recommend getting hair dye from a beauty store (if you have a sally's beauty)

  17. as long as you've had a hair cut within the last 2 weeks, then you can re-dye your hair now....if not, i would go and get a trim then go homw and re-dye your hair. just dont do it any more times or your hair will start to get really rough...if this should happen though, the only way to fix it is to get a hair cut (not a trim)...or to use conditioner (dry or damaged hair conditioner) for 2 weeks with no shampoo...(shampoo drys out the hair and you want your hair to be oily to replenish itself.

  18. If you do it at home yourself you should wait 2 weeks.

I know that may sound like a long time but otehrwise go to you neerest salon

and they will take care of everything

  19. the same thing sorta happened to me

the salon dyed my hair the wrong color, it was like purpley-red

so i went to the grocery store and bought some hair dye to die it down

i did it the same day, but i used a lot of conditioning shampoos

u dont want ur hair to have breakage from over dying so just take care of it

    and condition it well.

  20. you can dye you hair anytime?

id usally wait about 1 month to redye

    but in your case

just go to the salon so they can fix it

and get the color that you want.

  21. As long as the first time you colored wasnt bleach... you can color again within an hour or so. Just make sure your hair is dry and decently clean.
