My girlfriend and I dated for about 10 months, long distance most of the time. She is sisters with a good friend of mine from high school. I just graduated from college and am forced to live on the west coast while she will be going to college on the east coast. We broke up because we do not think we will be able to continue with even more distance. Logically it makes sense but i am still hurting because we loved each other a lot. The weirdest thing about my situation is that she is transferring to a college in the same town as the college i graduated from, even though i will not be there. i would just like to know what some females think of my situation.

  1. Normally I would say you shouldn't be friends with an ex, they are an ex for a reason.  In your case it seems there were other situations that caused the break up.  Give it some time.  Who knows, you may end up working things out with a little space between you.

  2. If you guys are destined to be together things will work themselves out.I think both of you did the right thing by breaking up,long distances races don't always work out.You can still be friends with her even if you  can't see her as often as you would have wanted. You can call her on her phone, send her messages on her phone and emails.

  3. i think you should be friends with her. perhaps wait a week or simply say to her you want to be friends

  4. It really depends on how well the relationship was and how you broke up with him

    take it slow

don't say much at first slowly increase how much you say until it is less occwared for you to to talk so that you can be friends without feeling uncomfortable

  5. Simple, never.

An ex is an ex for a reason.
