I just put a new front bearing in my '01 Pontiac Aztek but the light is still on. How long should I wait?

  1. bearings shouldnt have an effect on the abs unless you somehow damaged the sensor in the process or if it was about to go anyways.Have it scanned and it should tell you the fualt its reading to cause it.

  2. If it is still on then it is sensing an error.  I would check the wiring connections on the back of the hub first.  You see any damage to the windings in the hub while replacing the bearing did you?  Most likely your ABS is working fine however it is likely detecting that the hub you worked on isn't turning when it knows it should be or it simply isn't seeing the sensor at all.  It is probably as simple as just rechecking your connections.  Good luck.

  3. try taking the negative cable off for five minutes and put it back on this should reset the light
