How long should it take to make friends?

i've been in high school 2 days now and still haven't made friends. i've been talking to a couple of people here and there, but we're not 'friends'. how long do you think till i'll have a good solid set of friends?

don't start getting concerned until like two/three weeks into school.  by that time, people in the same classes will start getting used to each other & figure out who they like being friends with.

Depends if you're shy or not.

Takes usually a month or so, depends on what kind of friends your trying to get.

Black people: a month (go bad on the teacher until you get a referral, or get in a fight)

White people: 2 seconds (just compliment them)

If you're a girl it will take 1 week.

I had friends the day I got to high school.

I'd also been with these friends since elementary and middle school.

I moved leaving all behind.

It might take a few weeks before people get to know you.

true friends take more than a month...people you  hang with...a week or two

you need to be more social with them. if you dont, who knows how long it could take.

ok well i have been in ur shoes but a couple grades younger. It is all about the type of person that you are. But the first week watch people listen and learn about people around you and talk to them ask to sit with them so u can learn about them and before you know it you well have good friends

Im in highschool, people are just aas shy as you. I was worried came home crying the first day of ninth grade thinking i would never make friend's, then i went to school with a whole neew atttitude, saying " I don't care, Im my own friend & i know i will make true one's adventually" about a weeek late BOOOM, hahahah. Don't get discouraged, kid's in school can be cruel and mean. (:
