Question:

How long should it take to refund me?

I bought my wife a jumper last night as a surprise from Tesco, it then turned out that the girl at the checkout had charged me twice for the item which was really annoying to put it simply. She then issued a refund to my card which should have been £25.00 but I've just checked my account and it's not went in yet. I can see that the £50.00 has came out from where she charged me twice, but what's happened to my refund?

Not a happy chap at the moment!

Appreciate your help.

  1. Wrighty sometimes it takes a long time to get a refund on a credit card. It might not be posted for a while. Sometimes they say 2 or 3 business cycles. Meaning up to 6 weeks.

  2. Credits are annoying.

I have online access to my visa charges.  The charges show up the same day.  The credits show up only when the statement is generated, so I can't see them until the end of the cycle (unless the credit was with 2 days of the end of the cycle, I've never had it go past one cycle).

  3. That happens a lot - imagine if you hadn't checked the card - no wonder all these companies are making huge profits.  Keep on their backs until you become a nuisance and they will do something to get rid of you. Good luck Jason!

  4. i believe that tescos have  a policy where they give you double the cost of you goods back when they c**k up like that you need to persist. They charge enough for their goods!!
