I am teaching a simple choreographed jazz/Broadway routine at a theatre conference this summer...How long should the routine be? I have 1.25 hours to teach it to them. It has a very large chunk that can be repeated if necessary. I haven't taught choreography to a class before, so any help is much apreciated.

  1. mst routines i have been in are about four minutes long. try not to go over 6 because by then they won't remember anything. Sometimes it depends on the dancers ability, like closer to 3 minutes for ten year olds, and 4 1/2 for teenagers

  2. Most routines for young children go for 3 - 4 minutes but for teenagers and young adults most routines go for 5 minutes.

It just depends on the difficulty of the dance steps too.
