  1. You need to get fitted to make sure you have the proper length for your swing. The only problem is that if you are new you may not want to spend the extra money to buy a fitted set of clubs. You could have a pro cut down your clubs an inch or two and then put new grips on them. It's up to you really. Just make sure that you don't get a club that is too short, it is better to have a club that is slightly too long than the other way around.

  2. You should get fitted by a local pro.

Look around your area for an authorized Ping fitter; this person will set you up will the length, shaft, and model best suited for your game.

Good luck and I hope this helps.

  3. When ou stand it up beside you, it should be about to your armpit

  4. Depending on how old  you are, you may want to use a club made for a junior golfer(youth size).  Getting a custom fitted club will make your choice much easier.

  5. Hey GuitarMan, I am a scratch professional and I have been playing Guitar since high school. It sounds like you are just getting into the game, so I would reccomend that you use a 3 wood from the tee - typically it is 43 inches compared to 45 inches for a driver - the higher loft of a 3 wood will also give you a consistently straighter ball flight. Although you are short, this does not necessarily mean that you need shorter clubs - proper length is determined by your wrist to floor measurement. your height really will require you to swing around your body more than up and down. Hope this helps, always happy to help a fellow Guitarist !
