How long should postage take---please help--ebay?

Question

if its coming from china to australia(brisbane to be exact). and its been over a 5 weeks now! i bought a costume off of ebay and it takes a week to be made then they send it. they gave me its tracking number to goto the post office and see where it is right now in the world. they tracked it and said it was in sydney customs, but that was a week ago it shouldnt take this long right?

and has anyone ever heard of a tracking number for a package that you can find it through the post office??????

Customs get thousands of packages every day, perhaps something has come up as suspicious and they want to check it out for organic material or drugs.

Even if it has been process normally if the parcel was in Sydney a week ago and still has to get to Brisbane then I think thats a pretty normal delivery time, the package may have just arrived at Sydney and would easy take a couple of days to be processed before being dispatched to Sydney's interstate mail centre and then transported to Brisbanes MC before being delievered to you.

I would give it another week and then check at the post office again.

5 weeks is too long for China and Customs. Customs should notify you via mail that there's an issue for inspection. If the sender has the tracking number then they should provide you with it. You should be able to enquire via Post Office or customs.  I would start making a paypal claim

depending how busy customs is it can take a fair while to be released,they may have it marked for inspection which means it will be opened

it shouldn't be too much longer before you get it

If I were you, I'd be putting in a paypal dispute immediately.

It's the only way to let these people know that you are serious.

I had one lot that kept putting me off and putting me off, saying it was sent, then that it had been returned to them, then they were out of stock (doesn't make sense hey). etc, until the paypal reporting time was up. They played me for a sucker and they won.

So get the dispute in right away,report it as an item not received, then if it doesn't arrive within another week, escalate it to a claim. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

If it arrives and you are happy with it, you can then cancel the dispute.
