How long should shot pain last?

Question

I received a shot 9 days ago in my hip and it still hurts. If I touch it and if i sit/put pressure on it. Sometimes it feels as bad as getting the shot again. I've had many shots. I've never had anything like this.

What kind of shot was it?

it depends on what the shot was for?  Some substances are toxic, which is why they put it in such a large muscle, so that the blood can carry it more readily, but the soreness can last, as you have found for some time.  So it really does depend on what you got and why.
