How long should skiis be??

i just got some skiis for free but i am not sure if they are too long for me...

what does it mean the longer they get?

i am 5'2 and the skiis are about 1 1/2 foot taller than me.

  1. ya way to long.... skies should generally be a little above ur for head....go for shorter skies if ur a beginner...If u go to ur local ski shop they will be able to hook u up no worries...o and get shaped skies.


  2. It all depends how much you weigh and what you want to do with the ski.

  3. They are way too long for you.  The skiis are measured in CM, 1" = 2.54 cm, the pair you describe are about 6"10" which is 205 to 210 cm ski. These are "old style" that have not been produced for about 8 years. I hope you will take up skiing, and rent your equipment for the first few days. The ski you start learning with should be about nose high, and definitely be a "shaped" ski. Probably a 145-150 cm in length, maybe even a 100 the first day and work up to the longer pair.

  4. They're too long! Your weight may depend on the length too. Take about that size instead.
