How long should you be given to sign a contract?

i was given a contract whilst on the phone and asked to sign it on the spot, is there any law against this?

  1. no law against that, the contract offer may be withdrawn at any time, you may simply not ever sign it


  2. Law for what exactly - being distracted and signing something you didn't read?  No one forced you to sign anything - you just weren't paying attention.  Sure hope it wasn't something major you just signed away or bought or.... lol! (((shaking head)))

  3. You are free to enter in a contract quickly, or to refuse to act quickly.  No law governs the subject.  Anyone who demands that you enter into the contract without taking the time to think about it is likely to be a crook or con man.  

  4. No. Contracts are a private matter between the parties that sign them. If you don't feel you've had enough time to review the contract, refuse to sign it until you have.
