How long til I get my osap?

I was approved for osap. It said it releases 60% of the money for the first semester and the rest the second semester. Well I have orientation on monday and then I am suppose to negotiate my loan with them. They gave me enough for tuition and books but how long til I see the money because im depending on the whole 60% amount so I can also pay for my books.

Last September after my confirmation of enrollment (when you hand in a void cheque, sign various papers, show ID, etc.) I got it after a week, which was within the first week-week and a half that school started.

normally once you have negotiated your loan, it takes 3 to 5 business days for the money to be deposited into your account.

You will not get the entire 60%.  The school will take your tuition out of that amount and you will get what's left.

It sometimes doesn't come in until the end of September. A guy I know who was on it had to borrow books from the library for the longest time until the money came in. Don't worry though. Profs always hold books on reserves for students who need them.
