How long till fish in aquarium?

i bought a elite 60 aquarium from pets at home which is 60 litres i set it up about 4 days ago on sunday i added dechlorinator and cycle which speeds up the process.... i also have a 30 liter aquariu m with one usual gold fish and a zebra danios for the past month the zebra danios has become agressive and has been chasing my goldfish contantly i want to put the danios in the tropical tank for cycling and let my goldfish live in peace my goldfish hides in the corners and sits on the gravel as if realy scared can i put the danios in the elite 60 right now? sorry for all this writing please help me...:(

If you must cycle with fish, danios are a good option since they are fairly hardy, and often they can survive the cycle. The lifespan of the fish that go through the cycle will be significantly shorter than normal because of the dangerous elements that they are exposed to during that timespan, but it is possible to have a fish survive the experience.

You'll need to monitor your water parameters carefully so that you can do emergency water changes if the levels get too dangerous. Technically any ammonia is dangerous to your fish's health, but since you are cycling, it cannot be avoided.

When your ammonia comes down, the next deadly element rises (nitrites), and when that comes down the nitrates will come up - once you have readings of Ammonia - 0, Nitrites - 0, Nitrates - 20-40ppm, your tank is cycled and it is safe to add further fish.

One thing about the goldfish - he's not going to live long in the 30 liter aquarium. A fancy goldfish needs at least 30 gallons, and common goldfish need much more than that. Hopefully you have a bigger place to put the goldfish soon. Some of the behavior that he is displaying could be related to the tank size. Once his body reaches the max amount that it will be able to grow in that size tank, he will start a slow and painful death as his organs continue to grow, and eventually become to big for his body, which will cause his death.

Common goldfish get more than 1 Ft long, and need at least 55 gallon of heavily filtered water to be healthy. Preferably more than that, but 55G is the bare minimum, additional fish need at least 15-20G more per fish. Fancy golds can survive in 30G of water for the first goldfish, and an additional 10-15G of water per additional fancy gold.

absolutely not until you have checked the ammonia and nitrite readings-cycle speeds things up but doesn't prevent lethal ammonia and nitrite spikes. if you want to speed up the cycling more then add some of the filter media from your established tank and then you can add the danios when the ammonia levels have dropped

You know what though? Zebra danios are the PERFECT cycling fish.

and you have just one? Perfect!

Put  the danio in the new tank, it will cycle faster with a fish in there.

It should cycle within 3-4 weeks, check your ammonia and after it spikes and goes back down..  you know that you have completed your cycle.
